RTS Courses
(Resistance Training Specialists)
The RTS program was developed by Tom Purvis and Mitch Simon. This
two day course is our most in-depth, intensive and advanced.
ll exercise, from cardio to strength training, is based upon two
key factors:
- The perfection of motor patterns.
- The production and tolerance of forces.
For this reason every exercise is, objectively, resistance exercise!
Ultimately, it is the perfection of the movements and the way in
which force is applied that determines not only the benefits of
an exercise, but also the level of risk to the body.
Who should take the RTS program?
The Resistance Training Specialist Programs are designed for all
practitioners who employ resistance exercise for health/fitness
or as a treatment modality. This includes Personal Trainers, Athletic
Trainers, Physical Therapists, and Chiropractors who prescribe
machines, free weights, tubing, CV equipment or any other device
or method of imposing force upon the musculoskeletal systems of
a variety of individuals for a variety of goals.
The goal of the RTS program is objective decision making in the
implementation of exercise through the continual assessment of
client/patient needs, goals, individual neurological ability, structural
idiosyncrasies, to determine prescribed motor patterns, force application,
rate and form of progression, and ultimately, risk and benefit.
To look beyond method names and marketing to the objective factors.
The Resistance Training Specialist's program is not a personal
training certification. As CEC/CEU and certification courses, the
RTS program is unparalleled in the following areas: Biomechanics
applied to exercise The mechanics of load application Range of
motion components Joint structure, mechanics and forces The mechanical
progression of exercise Analysis of equipment, e.g., tubing, machines,
home gyms, etc.
